Bridgerton,
The Duke and I

The story follows the enigmatic Daphe Bridgerton, who, suffice to say, is one of the most lovely heroines in the 1800’s. She is beautiful, smart, and quite witty, but much to her dismay, she is on the verge of becoming a spinster. Lucky for her, she has seven siblings with which she must contend and a mother that can only be described as enchanting. Quinn writes the story so well, that I found myself entranced with the plot and smiling happily to myself. The dashingly handsome Simone Basset also adds a touch of intensity and humor. If you like books that reveal the comedy and the fear of society's misgivings, this is truly the book for you. Fear not, those of you who find historical fiction a bore, this is not one of those tales. After all is said and done, the book lies in the romance realm and quite unexpectedly left me with my mouth ajar on multiple occasions. Bravo, Julia Quinn, your novel has left a lasting impression on me. I cannot wait to read more about the Bridgerton troupe or any troupe you may be willing to share with us.
