The Rosie Project

Genetics professor, Don Tillman, has the perfect life. He has a set schedule, eats the same meals every week, very few friends, and adjusted to his lack of understanding social norms. Being a researcher at heart, he decides to try a scientific survey, sixteen pages of questions to be exact, in order to find himself a wife. His best friend, Gene, offers to peruse through the possible candidates for a ‘good’ match. In walks Rosie Jarman, who, unbeknownst to Don, is looking for an answer to a genetics question. Dr. Tillman assumes Gene has sent her as a potential candidate and invites her to dinner. After a series of humorous events, the pair begin working on a project together. In this laughable romance, you can’t help but root for Don the whole time. There are moments that will make you smile and moments that will make you sad. If you are a fan of unexpected romance and a believer in happy endings, this book is for you.
This particular novel drew me in from the start with its catchy cover and witty back matter. I was definitely not disappointed with the characters and soon found myself chuckling. Graeme Simsion is a talented storyteller with a penchant for the unique. Pick up a copy of the The Rosie Project, you won’t be disappointed.
